Mrs. Melinda Johnson

Mrs. Melinda Johnson

Principal, Jackson School
I am a proud native of Camden, SC and have fond memories of attending Jackson School years ago.  I am extremely grateful to have the opportunity to return as principal.  It is an honor to lead the next generation of Jackson students and build on the school's legacy of student leadership through the Leader in Me.

I earned my Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education at South Carolina State University and a Master of Education in Administration and Supervision at Southern Wesleyan University.

This year I am entering my 19th year in education, and in that time I have taught third grade, fifth grade, Title I Math Intervention and I have also been a Title I Curriculum Facilitator and a Primary Talent Development Coach. My experience has taken my family up and down the east coast from Charleston County and Dorchester School District Two in South Carolina, Prince William County Schools in Woodbridge, VA and Montgomery County Public Schools in Silver Spring, MD.

For the past three years, I have served as an assistant principal at Doby’s Mill Elementary.  I am a member of the South Carolina Association of School Administrators and have completed the Center for Executive Education Leadership (CEEL) Assistant Principal Foundations workshop, the CEEL Aspiring Principals program, and have the Read to Succeed Endorsement.

I'm excited to collaborate with the entire Jackson family to achieve great things together!”

Fun Facts about Me:
